Code P0332 Definition
Knock Sensor 2 Low Circuit Input (Bank 2)
What Does or what knock sensor bank 2 mean?
Knock sensors are only used to determine when the engine is “knocking,” or to detect when the air / fuel mixture bursts in a manner that delivers less power and, if repeated, will also destroy the engine. There is an excessive volume of NOx that is produced as the engine ‘knocks’.
When trouble code P0332 is set, the Power Control Module (PCM) has received a reading from knock sensor 2 in Bank 2 that is too low, and it will not be able to accurately send a ping to correct a problem.
Where is knock sensor located?
The knock sensor acts as an ear to the computer of your vehicle, mounted on the cylinder head, intake manifold, or engine block, picking up irregular noises caused by engine detonation.
What causes a knock sensor to go off or p0332 code?
- Faulty knock sensor
- Fault in the knock sensor circuitry
- Faulty EGR system

- Pinging in the engine
- Lower fuel economy
Can I drive with a bad knock sensor?
When driving on the highway, a bad knock sensor cannot allow the engine to accelerate properly and cause the car to lose fuel mileage. … Your car will most likely lose control if the machine knows the knock sensor is not functioning properly.
Can bad spark plugs cause knock sensor code?

Code P0332 Chevy Silverado Common Diagnosis
Tools Needed to Diagnose:
Difficulty of Diagnosis and Repair – (1-4).
1- Check to see if there are any other codes along with P0325 and clear your Check Engine Light with OBD2.
2- Test drive the vehicle and attempt to replicate the driving conditions that will also give similar if not the same freeze frame data in an attempt to pinpoint the issue.
3- Is there a signal being transmitted to the PCM by the knock sensor? If so, with the coolant temperature readings, there might be a concern. If not, there could be a need to replace the knock sensor (Step 5). If there are difficulties with the readings of the coolant temperature, deal with them ASAP as an overheated engine will likely cause the engine to knock.
4- Conduct a visual inspection of the knock sensor wiring, and any connections to the knock sensor to make sure there are no signs of disconnection, tearing, etc.
5- If the conclusion is that the knock sensor needs to be replaced, then it is often recommended to replace not only the sensor but the knock harness as well.

Can you replace a knock sensor yourself?
Any problems with a knock sensor should be dealt with instantly, as the pistons can be affected by constant pre-ignition and potentially destroy the engine itself. If you are a frequent DIYer, you should mount a knock sensor yourself, as the sensor merely needs to be replaced and the right wires attached.
Will a car run without a knock sensor?
There could be a complete absence of the knock sensor and it would not stop the car from starting. You can drive with a bad knock sensor, but if there is a lot of pre-ignition, it will have adverse long-term consequences on the engine and the vehicle will not pass most state checks until it is repaired.
