The BMW M8, which has been updated for 2023, has been the brand's halo performance car for the past few years. The new year brings a slew of changes, including a new 12.3-inch central display, more exterior colors, and the elimination of normal M8 variants in favor of the 617-horsepower Competition. The turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 under the sculpted hood is the star of this magnificent grand tourer. An M Steptronic eight-speed transmission with Drivelogic sends 617 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. What's the end result? It takes about 3.0 seconds to accelerate from zero to sixty miles per hour. When the optional M Driver's Package is selected, the top speed is increased to 190 mph. BMWs, on the other hand, aren't only about straight-line speed. The Adaptive M Suspension adjusts the dampers in milliseconds based on information from the road surface, steering input, and body movement, making the M8 Competition an agile car on both the road and the track. The Adaptive LED headlights have been given a new design with M Shadowline inserts, and the brand's trademark kidney grilles have been given a high-gloss black frame. M8 Competition cars will be offered with a special option to commemorate BMW M's 50th anniversary: old BMW Motorsport insignia will replace the standard blue and white roundels on the bonnet, trunk, and wheels. This will be available starting in March and will last through the end of 2022. The Tanzanite Blue II metallic and Frozen Grey hues are exclusive to BMW Individual vehicles. The already luxury cabin has been upgraded with a 12.3-inch instrument panel and head-up display, as well as a new central infotainment screen that has grown from 10.25 to 12.3 inches in size. According to BMW, the larger screen makes the seventh-generation iDrive system, which controls navigation, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto configurations, easier to use. M8 Competition vehicles with the optional M Carbon bucket seats are now available for the hardcore driver. With integrated headrests and noticeable back, shoulder, and thigh bolsters, the lightweight pews showcase visible carbon fiber reinforced plastic surfaces. The sportier seating option, on the other hand, does not scrimp on luxury, since both the passenger and the driver benefit from motorized adjustability and heating. They look great with illuminated 'M8' badges. The Full Merino Leather package is now also available in Black/Sakhir Orange, expanding the choice of upholstery possibilities. When these leather options are selected, black Alcantara is used on the dashboard and upper portions of the door panels, according to BMW. As you might expect, the M8 Competition comes with a long number of standard features. 20-inch M Star-spoke wheels, M Carbon Roof (for the coupe and Gran Coupe only), Harmon Kardon Surround Sound, soft-close doors, lane departure warning, and more are among the many options. Buyers can choose between a Driving Assistance Package, which includes blind-spot recognition, surround vision, and side collision avoidance, and a Professional Package, which includes even more passive safety measures. Additional options include M Carbon Ceramic brakes, the aforementioned bucket seats, and an M Carbon Exterior Package. BMW's halo car will be produced in the United States starting in March 2022. The M8 was already a thrilling vehicle, combining the brand's legendary driving dynamics with a new degree of elegance and refinement. While no price has been announced, BMW USA offers the MY2022 M8 Competition Coupe and Gran Coupe at $130,000, with the Convertible costing an extra $9,500. While the M8 and 8 Series models have gotten revisions, BMW has been tight-lipped about the speculated BMW M8 CSL that has been spotted in the wild.
